On old estate near Zutphen is this beech that died of old age. I am presently making an etching of the trunk of the tree; see here the first state.

Oude bomen fascineren me steeds- ze laten denken aan ons eigen leven en alle de individuele kenmerken en ook beschadigingen die we hebben ontfangen in het verlook van een leven- een prachtige vondst en een fijne foto, de persoon laat de groote van de beuk duidelijk herkennen!

That is an impressive tree. I like the etching better than the photo, though. I expect that is good news to you.
