After the first proofing I put a new ground onto the plate. The wax is transparent so I can still see the 'old' cracks. Then I continued the drawing of the trees and surroundings to get more detail and contrast. Now I started with the parts that had to be black and putting the plate into the acid for a while, then I drew the parts that should have greyer tones; again biting the plate for a few minutes. After a time I got curious for the results of the drawing and biting and I cleaned the plate of the etching ground. The result is this one: a second state. |
