This is the same bridge as in: https://www.wimvandermeij.nl/index.php?dailypic=168 . It is the old bridge across the IJssel and it was one of the first in the nineteenth century. Around 1860 the first trains began to ride from the western part of the country, so a good connection was needed. Apparently there are still parts of it (the bridge) that date back to those years. Last week two of the big supports were found damaged and now the bridge has been closed for all traffic heavier than bicyclists and pedestrians. A fine opportunity to make some photos. The low sun is adding some colour!
