Windmill on the IJssel

There was a fine iron windmill on the edge of the river, although I was never able to guess the use of it,  it was beautiful to look at, and to see time taking its toll: ever more pieces of the vanes crumbled and fell off.
Last week we had a walk along the IJssel and to our surprise (and anger) the mill had disappeared. Here a photos taken by Ger Rietberg, who lives in a house with a view on the IJssel. It shows the moment the mill is lifted off its base.
